Let’s start with Thailand! Bangkok is home to the Chatuchak Weekend Market, which spans a whopping 35 acres and offers over 15,000 stalls. This market is open every day of the week except for Mondays, so you can visit it anytime from approximately 04:00-12:30. The market itself is particularly notable for its exotic fruits; however you’ll find everything from clothes to shoes here as well.

This next one isn’t technically a street market; however we still think it’s unique enough to include. Thailand is also home to the floating markets, which are an experience like no other! You can find these along Thailand’s waterways and lakes, where you’ll see boatloads of vendors selling souvenirs such as bags and jewellery – all made from recycled materials.

Mercado

These next two are in the same country, but we thought they were too good not to mention! Thailand is also home to Warorot Market and Talad Nam Kwan – both have been open since 1979.

In Mexico City, you’ll find Mercado de la Merced which has been open since 1884 as a wholesale market before being turned into a public market. It is home to over 400 stalls, with goods ranging from produce and meat to clothing and crafts!

Mexico City is also home to Mercado Sonora, which was created in an old train station. This market has been open since 2004 and offers a variety of food, including traditional Mexican snacks and drinks!

Last but definitely not least is Mercado Jamaica in Mexico City. This market has been open since 1926 and is particularly notable for its flowers, which range from roses to orchids. You’ll also find a variety of traditional Mexican snacks here.
